'Cause ofsted are in! We got our 48 hour notice this morning and I now feel like I have put in a 48-hour day!I was busy trying to get classes to the point where I can leave them while I am off for the infusions, but am now having to abandon that and play the all-singing, all-dancing lessons game. Sighhhhhh ThumbDown xx Ailsa

I do think that these things are such a lot of hard work and no one seems to appreciate that very much.

thinking of you- hope you have a very quiet weekend planned.

Thinking of you Ailsa, and hoping it goes well. Having been a teacher I know the perils of OFSTED - I remember having to put our Silver Wedding celebrations "on hold" thanks to the dreaded visit from the OFSTED team.

Thankou so much everyone. Your messages have really bucked me up. Its been very tough - some of the things that have happened would be worthy of a Waterloo Rd script!! It isn't looking good and lots of pressure today to raise the bar. Will let you know the verdict tomorrow but we will be lucky to get satisfactory accordi g to the Deputy Head...

Jenni, when you posted yesterday morning, I was being inspected!! I got a 'good' and some great feedback, which was personally great. I'm sure all your positive thoughts worked! Can't wait for it to be over. We have inset on Friday, which now looks like it will be a very gloomy affair - but at least no pupils and no planning! I've been awake since 3 so will probably be in bed after tea tonight!

Thankyou all so much for keeping me going xx Ailsa

Hi Kathleen - that must have been so disappointing to have to postpone your silver weddi ng celebrations :( the pressure is awful. One friend had a gastroscopy on Mon morning. She came to from the sedative to the text about ofsted and her daughter drove her straight to school instead of having a day at home to recover!
Our last ofsted was a 28 day period when they would arrive with 30 minutes notice. They rang from the car park on my 50th birthday and i was the first teacher they inspected!! At least they haven't done that this time! My birthday is next week and i plan to seriously unwind!

Ofsted is the pits. Masses of stress, all singing and dancing lessons and all to be told what you probably knew about your school anyway.
I should be retired before our next oneLOL
Sue
PS we do seem to have a lot of education workers with RA - I wonder if there is a link!!RollEyes

I noticed how many there are with RA too Sue.

Well I haven't had quite the wind down I anticipated after school ... got home via a private tutor session and visit to my parents and within 10 mins, Joel had locked my only set of car keys in the boot. Endless fraught searching and phone calls to insurance (insured for theft or loss, not for stupid by behaviour!), waiting for call backs etc and I finally got a locksmith to come out for £85. Just as he started, the breakdown insurance called to say they could get in and it would be free, but the locksmith had started.

It was sufficient to let loose a deluge of tears so I'm all cried out and off to bed now! Thankyou for all your good wishes and support this week. I will post the verdict when we find out tomorrow Scared xx Ailsa
